Deadmau5 recently posted a 12-minute video bashing one of the largest DJ community performances with the 3-day Ultra Music Festival. As of right now, links to the video were taken down for viewing.
Ultra Music Festival 2012 will be held from March 23-25 at Miami's Bayfront Park. Acts signed to the event already include Grammy-nominated Skrillex, Sweden's Avicii and Tiesto. Phase 2 list of more DJs are to be released soon, according to the Festival's official website.
In the video, the Canadian Producer specifically mentions that high ticket prices ($600 dollar for VIP tickets) and the business dealings behind the stage are ridiculous. Also he mentioned the absurdity of the weekend festival's policy preventing all performing DJs from performances at other venues during the few days the event is held in Miami.
The DJ/Producer did mention that it is definitely worth going for a one-time experience but that the festival is repetitive if planning on returning. A few posts later on Facebook, he apologized for the rant blaming mental illness and lack of rest.
Deadmau5 has performed at the event since 2008 and headlined the annual festival last year in 2011.
Ultra's Press Representative had no response to the video.
The three-day general admission tickets are still available for $299.95 and may be bought at ultramusicfestival.com.
